what is federal employers liability?

Our client is going to be doing a job and one of the insurance requirements is Federal Employers Liability with a limit of $10,000,000. I have never heard of this.

It is to protect the company from liabilities due to employee injuries on the job. The act was passed during the US industrial revolution to protect very poorly treated workers (railroads, factories, etc). A quick google will give you some decent information on FELA.
