How do inflation index bonds (TIPS) accounts operate in rising interest rate situations

Can interest rate increases affect TIPS as they would other bonds? Can TIP bond funds decline in the face of interest rate increases?

Yes – they protect against inflation well, but move as any bond would as interest rates increase or decrease. The movement is minimal, though, as the i/r is low on government bonds. Still a “safe” asset
