Can a company charge you a fee they forgot to originally charge you for?

An apartment complex i live in is suddenly deciding that i owe them more money because they found out that they gave me a “$50 discount”. It seems like this complex makes up reasons to bill people for their money. Is it legal for them to bill me for a charge that they mistakeny didn’t have me pay 2 months after the fact, or do they have to take the hit because their employees made the mistake?

If you have a contract, you should first look through it carefully.

That said, I believe they could retroactive charge you; however, they could not impose late fee or charge you interest on these forgotten charges.
