as we know that management means to perform a right job at right place by right person. so, production management involves those activities from input of resource(raw material , labor) to output level. thus the conversion process or the transformation of goods and services to actual output is production management.the production management is also called quantitative management as it also shows the mathematical terms like LPP, decision making, etc.
where as operation management refers the operating activities involve in the conversion process. it involves product layout and location for production, product design, repair and maintenance of machine to quality control.
