    Motivation may be regarded as a set of those wishes,desires,needs and drives which stimulate(or activate)an individual to act.Motivation is an iiier psychological force which activates and compels the individual to behave in a particular manner.Motivation may also be defined as the process which inspires individuals to contribute to the best of their capability for the achievement of organizational goals.It is an effective instrument in the hands of the management to maximize efficiency of operations.Higher motivation leads to job satisfaction of workers and makes them committed to the organization.

    According to Dale S. Beach,”Motivation is a willingness to spend energy to achieve goal(or reward)”.
    Michael J.Jucius said,”Motivation is the act of stimulating someone to get a desired course of action”.
