If I sustained an injury due to the nature of my job, and was tested and seen by a doctor, then teriminated, can I still have workmans’s comp?

I have been having alot of pain in my arms, so my doctor ordered me to have a EMG performed to see what was wrong. They came to the conclusion that I have Carple Tunnel in both arms. This was April 07,2011. My next appointment with my doctor, was to read the test and determine a treatment.. He said that I will need surgery to correct the problem, and I asked him if people just got this, or is it caused by the nature of my job. He said it is more than likely from doing my job. I have done the same thing for 10 years, and been with the company 11 years. I went to work that same day, and was terminated. Can I still claim workmans compensation, even though I was terminated? Everything , including the tests and my consultation with my doctor preceeded the termination.

I am pretty sure that if you received your diagnosis prior to termination and have the proper documentation to prove it you should be covered by workmans compensation.
