Internal customer: When the good transfer from one department to another within the organization then the latter or transferee department is known as Internal customer.
External customer: These includes general public, when the outside person purchase the good then he is known as external customer.

Internal customers are your own colleagues in the same organization. If you take an example of a bank, internal customers are staff members & external customers are Account holders / walk in-customers who are outsiders.
