ATAPI
Definition
AT attachment packet interface. Essentially, a simpler (therefore cheaper) adaptation of SCSI command set to IDE interface commonly used in personal computers. Its latest version (ATA 100) allows up to 100 megabits per second of data transfer rate for storage devices such as CD-ROM drives and tape drives.
