Brisch classification

Definition

UK's flexible inventory-classification system in which first a primary code is attached to every item according to its basic features (such as dimensions and shape). Then a secondary code according to its processing features (such as machining operations) is attached. Invented in the late 1950s by the industrial consultant Edward Brisch.
