CEO confidence survey
Definition
A survey conducted monthly which includes 100 CEOs from varied industries in the United Sates. The survey is used to gauge the economic forecast of CEOs by analyzing their business concerns and their positions on where the economy is going. The survey is done and reported by the Conference Board which includes questions on hiring new employee obstacles, reasons involved in company layoffs, industry concerns, economic worries, and short-term/long-term outlooks on the economy. The survey targets CEOs due to their potential to make big investment decisions which have an effect on the economy as a whole. The survey helps guide traders and investors with insight and valuable data about upcoming economic conditions. In the survey, a reading of 50 or higher indicates that the CEOs included in the survey are more bullish in their outlook on the economy. Lower rating indicates a bearish outlook.
