Coinage Act of 1792
Definition
A legislation establishing the U.S Mint and regulating the coinage of the United States. The Act also designated the officers of the U.S Mint which are the Director, Assayer, Chief Coiner, Engraver and Treasurer. The law is deemed to be the foundation of modern U.S currency.
