Unique nine-character (seven numerals and two letters) number that identifies every registered Canadian and US security (bond, option, share, etc.) and appears on its certificate of ownership. Registered securities of other countries are identified by a nine-character Cusip International Numbering System (CINS) Number. See also International Securities Identification Numbering (ISIN).
