Consumer and Business Lending Initiative
Definition
A federal program that authorizes the Treasury Department to fund up to $1 trillion in loans to investors for the purpose of acquiring collateralized securities backed by debt such as credit cards and auto, student and small business loans. The intent of the initiative is to boost lending as a driver for economic growth.
