EWMA Control Charts
Definition
An abbreviation of Exponentially-Weighted Moving Average Charts, this technique is used in statistical quality control to monitor the output of a business or manufacturing process by tracking the moving average of the output, or average of performance over the lifetime of the process. The EWMA is constantly re-calculated while the process is in operation, giving greater weight to recent measurements to show the effect of process improvements.
