East African Community (EAC)
Definition
An intergovernmental group formed in 1967, which includes Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania, that promotes social and economic cooperation. The group joined with the Southern Africa Development Community and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa to form the largest free trade organization on the continent.
