Equity Linked Note
Definition
A security that is backed by a debt instrument that does not pay a fixed interest rate. Instead, the return on investment for an equity linked note is tied to the performance of a single security, a basket of securities, or a broader market index. Some Equity Linked Notes have a minimum redemption value that protects the principal.
