Definition

One of the two methods of quoting exchange rates in which a foreign currency is quoted in terms of how many units (or what fraction) of it will buy one US dollar. In the other method (called reciprocal of European terms) a currency is quoted in terms of how many US dollars (or what fraction of US dollar) is required to buy one unit of the currency.
