Global Resource Information Database (GRID)

Definition

Agency established in 1985 under UN Environment Program (UNEP) to integrate the scientific understanding of earth processes and sound management of the environment at national, regional, and global levels. In addition, to its two main centers (nodes) in Geneva and Nairobi, it has sub-nodes in New Caledonia, Norway, Thailand, and the US.
