Group of 3 (G-3) (Europe)
Definition
Refers to France, Germany and the United Kingdom as the largest and most influential economies within the European Union (EU). The EU-3 in this case attempts to lead EU policy (especially EU foreign policy) on matters such as Iran's nuclear program and others. After 2004 this role is more often performed with the G6 (a group including Italy, Spain and Poland). Also called EU-3.
