Detailed requirements for the transport of dangerous goods by air aimed at ensuring a level of safety that protects the aircraft, crew, and passengers (if any) from any undue risk. Published by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) these instructions are based on the UN Recommendations On The Transport Of Dangerous Goods (see UN Recommendations) and are constantly reviewed to keep pace with developments in technology. They include IATA Restricted Article Regulations, published originally by International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 1956. See also IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
