Non-profit cooperative owned jointly by over 100 countries to operate a global satellite system for domestic and international communications. It comprises of a network of stationary orbit (geo-synchronous) satellites and hundreds of land-based antennas scattered over Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific-Ocean regions. Abbreviated INTELSAT.
