Kazakhstan National Fund
Definition
A sovereign wealth fund for the Republic of Kazakhstan that is administered by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Created in 2000 as a stabilization fund for the Kazakhstani economy against fluctuations in oil, gas and metal prices. In 2008 the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute reported approximately $21.6 billion in assets.
