Machine Capability Index (Cmk)

Definition

A metric for the capability of production machinery to produce units within specified tolerances of quality, based on short-term surveys of continuous production runs. The Machine Capability Index, once calculated, can be used to plan longer-term production runs, and can also be used to measure the effectiveness of process improvement efforts.
