Morningstar rating system
Definition
A mutual fund ranking system, developed by Morningstar Inc., which uses quantitative measures to evaluate the risk-adjusted performance of funds over a three, five and ten year period relative to the performance of similar funds grouped as a category and then assigns a rating of 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest.
