National Television Standards Committee (NTSC)

  

Definition

US and Canadian standard for the generation, transmission, and reception of television signals. It specifies 525 line picture and 30 frames per second. The video component of the signal is transmitted in amplitude modulation (AM) and the audio component in frequency modulation (FM). Used also in Japan, Caribbean, Central America, and some South American countries.
