Definition

Famous politician during the 15th century who is widely remembered for his influential writings and plays. One of his most popular and highly criticized works was his treatise, The Prince. All of his more popular works were not published until after his death. Machiavelli died in 1527 after spending a large portion of his life analyzing and writing about political powers. Some of his most popular works include Discourses on the First Ten Books of Titus Livius, The Mandrake, and The Prince.
