Office of Interstate Land Sales
Definition
An office under the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that is responsible for the interpretation and enforcement of federal regulations regarding the sale of land across state boundaries. The Office of Interstate Land Sales was established in 1969 to protect investors and consumers from fraudulent transactions involving out-of-state properties.
