Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS)

An agency of the U.S. Treasury Department that serves as the primary regulator of federally chartered savings banks, savings and loans, and some state banks. Institutions belonging to the Savings Association Insurance Fund (SAIF) fall under the regulatory jurisdiction of the Office of Thrift Supervision.
