Oman Investment Fund
Definition
An investment fund created in 2006 as per royal decree granted by the Sultan of Oman. It is a sovereign wealth fund whose primary objective is to improve Oman's economic development. Oman Investment Fund invests in public equity, private equity, and real estate markets worldwide.
The fund's portfolio includes investments in the Jurys Inns hotel chain (Ireland), Dubai Mercantile Exchange (United Arab Emirates), Quippo Infrastructure Equipment, Nimbus Communications and Housing Development Finance Corporation (India), Becton Property Group (Australia), and others.
