Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC)
Definition
Organization founded in 1968 by conservative Arab states with the intent of creating international economic cooperation among petroleum producing and exporting nations. In 1972 membership was extended to allow more radical states. OAPEC's current members are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Lybia, Syria, Iraq, Bahrain, Algeria, Egypt, and Qatar.
