Philadelphia Federal Index
Definition
This index measures changes in business growth based on voluntary surveys completed by participants with regard to the direction of the changes they see in their business activities. This survey also measures the growth of regional manufacturing. The Philadelphia Federal Index is also referred to as the Business Outlook Survey.
