Definition

A fund established in 2000 by the government for the purpose of stabilizing its economy which is heavily reliant upon oil and gas production. Fund contributions are generated from oil tax surpluses which are based on the difference between current oil prices and a base price of $37 which is used for state budgeting purposes.
