Self Employed Contributions Act Tax (SECA Tax)

Definition

A tax imposed on small business owners to cover their Social Security, Medicare and Old Age Survivors and Disability Insurance. The tax is 15.3% of the net income from self-employment but one half of the SECA tax amount is deductible as a business expense.
