Sir Thomas More
Definition
An English lawyer, philosopher and statesman born in 1478 and considered a saint by Catholics for his opposition to Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. Sir Thomas More is best known for coining the word "utopia", which was the title of his book published in 1516 and the name he used to describe an imaginary island. Also called Saint Thomas More.
