TACACS
Definition
Terminal access controller access control system. Standard security protocol used in authenticating the identity of a computer or device seeking remote access to privileged data (such as that behind a firewall). Its improved version (TACACS+) provides full services (authentication, authorization, and accounting) of an AAA Server for electronic commerce. Developed by Cisco Systems it is an alternative to RADIUS.
