USA Patriot Act
Definition
An act passed after the September 11, 2001 attacks designed to provide law enforcement agencies with the ability and tools needed to prevent future terrorist attacks. The USA Patriot Act took into account laws that were already on record and made adjustments to preserve the liberty and lives of American citizens both stateside and abroad. Also called: Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism.
