United States Postal Service (USPS)

Definition

Independent government agency that receives, delivers, and processes mail in the United States. USPS was created in 1775 and now has locations (post offices) all across the continental United States. Each post office is in charge of providing services to a specific jurisdiction. The United States Postal Service is governed under a number of policies and procedures established by a board of directors.
