Definition
Senate committee responsible for issues related to taxation and revenue in the United States. Other areas of concern include health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, US bonded debt, national social security and handling of public moneys. Also known as the Senate Finance Committee and is one of the most powerful in Congress.
