Programming language interface designed by Microsoft Corporation to allow users to modify code written in the simple programming language known as Basic. Visual Basic seeks to alleviate the extensive programming knowledge required to develop complex applications. This programming language does have the capability of creating executable files and ActiveX controls. The first version of Visual Basic was introduced in 1991 and the last updated version was released in 1998.
