Management's acceptance of its responsibility to the society, and of taking effective steps to solve social and environmental problems caused by its activities. It is one of the four ways in which an organization may choose to respond, in accordance with appropriate ethical and legal guidelines. For the other three see defensive response, obstructive response, and proactive response.
