active learning
Definition
An educational process where students become vigorously engaged in assimilating the material being taught rather than absorbing it passively in a lecture format. For example, active learning within a business context might include performing more academic activities like reading, writing, analysis and evaluation, as well as participating in discussion and problem solving groups. Also called cooperative learning.
