The speed with which a computer chip completes mathematic functions. It is another term for the number of calculations a computer can make in one second. The rate at which the computer handles these logic functions will determine how efficient it will be at sifting through large databases. Typically, it must manage multiple inputs and interfaces required to run day-to-day operations.
