ascending triangle
Definition
A trend continuation chart pattern in which the tops of the price bars remain relatively flat and the bottoms gradually rise. Lines drawn across the tops and along the bottoms of the price bars will eventually converge unless a breakout interrupts the increasingly restrictively trading range. Ascending triangles are viewed as a bullish pattern, but the short-term market direction will be confirmed by the direction in which the stock trades once the breakout occurs.
