Definition
Devices, equipment, or systems that enhance, increase, or maintain the physical and/or mental capabilities of people with disabilities. Assistive technology items may range from better designed pens, furniture, and kitchen appliances to text to speech and speech to text software, screen enlargers, robotic vision, etc. Also called adaptive technology.
