Definition

Convention that seeks to protect the privacy of the information exchanged between an attorney and a client. Its objective is to encourage open and honest conversations that enable an attorney to provide the best possible representation to the client. This privilege, however, is considered sacrosanct only so far as the client is diligent in paying his or her attorney's bill.
