Definition
Digital (electronic) key employed to ensure that data exchanged during an electronic commerce transaction remains unchanged, and cannot be interfered-with by any unauthorized third party. It consists of a set of digital (electronic) code which is based on some unique information (amount, date, time,) of the transaction it authenticates and secures. Also called digital key or electronic key.
