automatic extension
Definition
A clause found in a listing agreement - an accord a property owner makes with a real estate broker, saying the owner will pay the broker to lease or sell property for a given price. An automatic extension makes the listing agreement persist after it expires, for a specified time. Certain states forbid or discourage using automatic extensions.
