baggage allowance
Definition
Weight of baggage allowed free by a carrier. This weight is indicated on the ticket and, for airlines, it generally is 20 kilograms for economy class, 30-35 kilogram for business class, and 40 kilograms for the first class. Hand baggage (carried in the passenger cabin) is limited generally to 8 kilograms. The airlines usually also limit the number of baggage pieces per passenger.
