bit-mapped graphics
Definition
Black and white and color graphics (such as those produced by illustration or 'paint' programs) composed of bit-maps. Unlike vector graphics, bit-mapped graphics usually cannot be enlarged or reduced without producing jagged lines (aliasing) or distorted images.
