braille
Definition
System of raised (embossed) print 'read' by touch. It uses combinations of six dots arranged in columns three-dots high and two-dots wide to represent numbers and the letters of an alphabet. Used worldwide, it was invented in 1824 by Louis Braille (1809-1852) a French teacher of the blind when he was just 15 years old.
